IIA Group was established in the year 1981 and the foundation stone was laid by Capt. R.N. Sinha. He was also the founder chairman of Aviators Co-operative, the pioneer operator to start non-scheduled MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) operations in the year 1968. The time when working on aircraft and helicopters was a mere dream for the student, IIA Group was amongst the first in India to set up an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering training institute. Thus IIA Group has been producing world-class Aircraft Maintenance Engineers since 1981.
When a good science laboratory in a college was considered an achievement, IIA Group brought in aircraft – Heavy pressurized Aircraft Hawker HS – 125, Learjet – 24, Bonanza A – 35, Helicopter SA – 318C, Eurocopter EC – 120B – for practical training of students. IIA Group contributed significantly in shaping up technical jobs and careers in Indian Aviation Industry.
Many of our alumni have now served for decades in the global aviation scenario. They hold very high positions in the aviation industry. We are pioneers and leaders for creating world-class Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) leaving our competitors far behind as more than 50% of the technical workforce in the industry come from our group. Our College Canteen forms as a multi-functional facility. It has plenty of space decking area and is a great place where students can eat lunch and socialise.
Our classrooms are well equipped with laptops and LCD projectors for delivering lectures through power point based training notes.
The library is having large collection of DVDs, CDs, CBTs on AME subjects and computers with Broadband Internet facilities.
Our Engine repair workshop has all the tools and facilities to carry on the repair work.
Our faculty members include experienced AME Engineers from Civil Aviation field and technical personnel from Indian Air force and graduate engineers.
As a way of relaxing from the rigors of academic life, we encourage students to engage in various forms of extracurricular activities like Table tennis, chess, carrom etc.
We have full fledged electric shop for practical training.

In India, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering was first introduced 4 decades ago and the fire has been kept blazing by one IIA group of institutes. They are well known to offer both DGCA and EASA Approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses and they are good at it.
EASA Part-147 approved course is a section among many others in the European Standard that dictates and covers in-depth all the guidelines to be followed in aviation training. To be specific, EASA Part 147 focuses on safety and airworthiness of aircraft.
