What is EASA Part 147 training?

According to EASA Part-147 regulations, Aircraft Type training is divided into 2 major divisions. We have Practical training and theoretical training. The theoretical training deals with the outline of the airframe. You also study on specific aircraft engines, the aircraft operating systems and generating a basic overview of controls, the indicators, the principal components, servicing and minor troubleshooting. In addition, a student undertakes a theoretical training on the operations, descriptions, and location of components, their removal and installation. On the pieces of training, the troubleshooting procedures as per the maintenance manual are taught in the theoretical training.

On the other hand, the practical training involves applying what you have learned in class-books and drawings into the real aircraft or in the field. All the knowledge acquired is put into reality with the help of professional instructors. The time taken for each type of training varies from 20-25 days for the theory training and for the practical training, it takes you 10-15 days only.
