The Indian Institute of Aeronautics (IIA) Group is pioneer institution in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in India with its institutional locations at New Delhi & Patna Airport.
There are two Aircraft Maintenance Engineering training programs offered by the IIA Group are;
1. CAR 147 AME Training Program approved by DGCA, Govt of India
2. EASA Part 147 AME Training approved by the European Union.
IIA Group’s DGCA-Approved CAR 147 AME Training Course
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training conducted by the IIA group is followed as per the guidelines issued by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. For the last 38 years, AME Colleges of the IIA Group has supported the Indian aviation industry with qualified, capable and dedicated Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, which are the backbone of this aviation industry.
JRN Institute of Aviation Technology, Delhi and the Bharat Institute of Aeronautics, Patna are part of the IIA group where the AME training courses are being conducted. As one of the most popular & sought after aviation courses after 10+2, an aspirant has to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to become eligible for the admission. After completing the formalities of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering admission process, the student will learn subjects relevant to,
1. Mechanical (Airplanes & Power plants)
- Light & Heavy Aircraft
- Piston & Jet Engines
- Electrical Systems,
- Instrumentation System
- Radio Navigation & Communication
After completion of Basic AME Course (1 year for Cat A or 2 years for Cat B) successfully, the students have to undergo Actual Maintenance Experience (1 Year for Category A & 2 years for Category B) and are then awarded with license to work as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by the DGCA, Government of India.
What Does The EASA Part 66 Course Entail?
The IIA group having the apex Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Colleges in Delhi also offers the EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License Training Program approved by the European Union. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is a European Aviation Regulatory Authority that sets the guidelines for aviation design, safety, construction, and maintenance of an aircraft.
Among the various EASA Part 66 Aviation Courses, the IIA Group offers training in Category B1.1 that is, Aeroplane fitted with Jet Engine, which corresponds to the Mechanical aspects of an aircraft. After successfully completing the 2 years of Basic Training & 2 years of Actual Maintenance experience on an operating aircraft, a student is qualified to maintain & certify an aeroplane. For this Actual Maintenance Experience, IIA has tie-ups with multiple organizations in India & Europe to enable the student to acquire Aircraft Maintenance License. One of the major technical partners is our national carrier & member of the Star Alliance, Air India limited.
Students who wish to seek admission for this course have to be at least 15 years of age, possess a valid passport, have a school passing certificate, medical fitness certificate and a reasonably good level of the English language (Min IELTS Band score of 4.5).
The group’s AME Institute conduct the theory in their premises and the practical elements of training are conducted at Indamer Aviation New Delhi or at Air India Engineering Services Ltd, New Delhi with whom the organization holds viable contracts.
The curriculum of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course includes subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Electronic systems, Electrical systems, Digital Techniques in Aircraft Instrumentation & Systems, Materials & Hardware, Aerodynamics, Jet Engine turbines Construction & Systems, Maintenance Practices, Propellers, Aviation Regulations and Human Factors that are associated with the aviation industry.
The IIA Group is pioneer college in Aircraft Maintenance Training and is considered the best placement college in India in the aviation field. Every student who passes out of their institution with successful “Certificate of Recognition” gets an opportunity to serve & work in the Indian & international Aviation Industry.
