If your dream career is in the aviation sector, then Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Courses or AME offers unlimited career opportunities. There are two AME Course which is offered by the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Colleges in India.
We have EASA Approved AME Course which requires candidates to have the 10th pass. The other one is DGCA Approved AME Course whose Eligibility-are a 12th pass with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical & Mechanical.

- CAR 147 AME Training Program approved by DGCA, Government of India
CAR 147 AME Training Program
Students undertaking the DGCA Approved courses usually study subjects that cover two major topics. The two major categories that the subjects are divided into are;
- Category A- Mechanical stream (Aeroplane Turbines): It generally involves Aircrafts engines and the Power Plants. The minor check-up is carried out by a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer during transits. The studies are divided according to these subcategories. They are;
- Light and Heavy Aircraft
- Piston and Jet Engines
- Category B1 (Aeroplane Turbines): This involves major check-ups with the adoption of troubleshooting and repair procedures according to the manuals provided by the aircraft manufacturers. The engineers who are specially meant for these tasks are the CAT B1s.
EASA Part 66 Training Program
Those undertaking the EASA Approved courses almost undergo the same procedure to those taking the DGCA.EASA course is EASA part 66 training. EASA guidelines majors on the design, safety, construction, and maintenance of an aircraft.
For you to pursue any of the courses above, either under DCGA or EASA, there are some of the requirements. For the EASA approved courses, the Minimum age on admission is 15years. A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) & A School Leaving Certificate (SLC) is another requirement. Also, a Passport is needed and a Medical fitness certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
For the DGCA approved courses, the minimum age at the time of admission is strictly 16 years or more than that. A pass of 10+2 Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. These are actually the major topics to be considered. Aspirants with a diploma in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic stream can also apply. A Verification from the State-run or an Open school board for 10+2 results. Then, you will need a Medical fitness certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
