Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is a job profile with high dignity and a great sense of responsibility. Owing to the strict standards of aviation safety and security, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Govt. of India, regulates & governs the entire training program involving grant of Aircraft Maintenance License.
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training conducted by the IIA group is followed as per the guidelines issued by the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. For the last 38 years, AME Colleges of the IIA Group has supported the Indian aviation industry with qualified, capable, and dedicated Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, which are the backbone of this aviation industry.
JRN Institute of Aviation Technology, Delhi and the Bharat Institute of Aeronautics, Patna are part of the IIA group which are approved by the DGCA Govt. of India under CAR 147 where the AME training programs in different categories are being conducted. As one of the most popular & reputed aviation courses after 10+2, an aspirant has to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to become eligible for the admission. Candidates who have done diploma in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics stream can also apply.
After completion of Basic AME Course (1 year for Cat A or 2 years for Cat B) successfully, the students have to undergo Actual Maintenance Experience (1 Year for Category A & 2 years for Category B) in an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation after which they are awarded with Aircraft Maintenance License to work as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer by the DGCA, Government of India.
